Red List of Endangered Crafts: 2024 Ashbee Lecture Announced

Court Barn, Chipping Campden’s museum of craft and design, is delighted to announce that the 2024 Ashbee Lecture will take place on 22 April. Our subject this year is the Red List of Endangered Crafts.

The speaker is Mary Lewis, Endangered Crafts Manager for Heritage Crafts, the national charity that has made a significant impact with its focus on endangered crafts – block printing to brick making, shoe and boot making to stained-glass window making. The Red List produced by Mary and her team has become a focus of support for endangered crafts and their survival into the next generation.

Mary Greensted, chair of Court Barn, said

"Traditional crafts are a vital part of our intangible cultural heritage and we are delighted to welcome Mary Lewis as part of our contribution to raising the profile of craftsmen and women.”

The lecture will be held at Chipping Campden Town Hall on Monday 22 April at 6pm preceded by a drinks reception.

Tickets are £17, or £15 for Friends of Court Barn.
