In 1901, my grandfather, George Hart was invited to join the Guild of Handicraft in London by the Arts and Crafts architect-designer, C.R.Ashbee. One year later, the Guild moved to Chipping Campden. Although the Guild was wound up in 1908, George stayed in Campden and established an independent workshop in the Silk Mill. During the next 30 years, George was supported by his half-brother Reynell Huyshe, his sons, George Philip and Henry, and apprentice, Harry Warmington

I joined my grandfather’s workshop after the Second World War. I have designed and made silver pieces for churches, institutions and individual clients and became a Freeman of the Goldsmith’s Company in 1982

Working alongside me in Hart Silversmiths are Derek Elliott, my son William, my nephew Julian and his partner, Caroline Richardson. We work mainly to commission, creating new designs or using the drawings produced since 1902, updating and adapting them where necessary.
