Having studied glass at Wolverhampton University and the International Glass Centre, Brierley Hill, I now specialise in kiln formed and engraved glass. My striking vessels, wall pieces and sculptures are made by collaging glass elements which are then fused and shaped at high temperature in the kiln. Colour and texture may be added using enamels, lustres, frit and sandblast, or the piece may be used as a blank ‘canvas’ for a detailed engraving with diamond burs.
Movement in natural forms is the inspiration for much of my work, which in recent years has been particularly influenced by the landscape and wildlife surrounding my studio in the beautiful Slad Valley. I very much enjoy taking commissions and working with clients to create unique pieces of glass art. I am a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the Contemporary Glass Society and a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers.
