I studied Textiles and Fashion at Loughborough College of Art specialising in Embroidery, creating wallhangings inspired by poetry called “Poembroidery”. I later worked as a Wardrobe Mistress and ran my own knitwear business.
I then decided to specialise in embroidered bridal wear, winning the Embroidery category in the British Bridal Awards in 2001. I continued to improve my couture embroidery skills and studied for an MA at Bath Spa University, where I developed a range of embroidered jewellery incorporating my signature style of embroidery with vintage finds for my label “something old…something new”.
I now use all my skills to create both bridal wear, accessories, jewellery and wearable art, perfect for dressing up on and off stage. I’m constantly inspired by nature and the changing seasons and love to incorporate many embroidery techniques to achieve the level of couture embellishment I seek to achieve.
