Emerging from of the vibrant Arts and Crafts Movement in the Cotswolds at the turn of the 20th century, the Gloucestershire Guild was formed in 1933.

New members
We are actively looking for new members
We welcome applications from professional craft people who are personally involved with the design and creation of contemporary craft.

Work should clearly demonstrate:

  • Depth and breadth of subject knowledge
  • Innovation and coherence of design
  • Excellence in craftsmanship

Our membership programme offers:

  • Opportunities to exhibit and sell work through our highly respected shop, in Montpellier, Cheltenham
  • Opportunities to take part in and to sell through external exhibitions
  • A strong online presence through our website

Member commitment:

  • Payment of an annual membership fee
  • A minimum of 24 hours volunteering each year to help with the running of The Guild. This could be exhibition duties, shop duties or offering your skill-set to develop a shared initiative.

If becoming a member might appeal to you or someone you know, we would really like to encourage you to apply.

The standard of The Guild is very high and so regrettably, not everyone can be accepted, but it’s definitely an opportunity to explore if you would like to join a group of vibrant and committed makers.

Initial applications should be made online: guildcrafts.org.uk/pages/membership

All applicants are considered, and those shortlisted will be invited to an interview. Our Selection Committee meets twice a year, in spring and autumn.

There is a £15 submission fee to cover admin charges.
