My work is inspired by both my early childhood in post war London and my current life in Stroud. I admire the determination of plants to colonise the empty places left by the war in the city, and therefore the creation of colour and delicacy against a backdrop of rubble. My garden and the rural landscape is a current inspiration together with early experiences of seaside holidays and those long summer days of our youth!
I use enamel on metal because I love the brilliancy of the coloured glass in contrast with the solidity of metal. I enjoy making jewellery because I see it as a medium that people use to tell stories about themselves, and also because I like to wear it myself!
