A Drawing Day for Guild Members

We are grateful to John and Sarah Biddulph for kindly opening their home to give Guild members a wonderful drawing day. Rodmarton manor was opened exclusively for members to find new inspiration for contemporary Arts and Crafts and the next flower themed Crafts Alive Festival.

We saw photographs and text from the 1972 Festival from which we will take our inspiration for Crafts Alive 2025 - Design in Harmony with Nature. The recently discovered 1972 BBC Radio Bristol recording celebrates the first ever Festival at Rodmarton Manor - a Flower Festival.

Dahlias at Rodmarton

Makers are invited to take their inspiration from flowers which are in abundance at Rodmarton, some working in collaboration with flower artists.

Rodmarton Manor garden

Rodmarton Manor house and garden looked stunning particularly with the glorious weather, and it was wonderful to see the garden with so many flowers at this time of year!

Textile artist Liz Lippiatt tells us 'I think everyone left with great ideas and enthusiasm!'
