Crafts Alive - Flowers and the Maker Collaboration - Cleo Mussi
Several Guild makers are collaborating with local florists who focus on sustainable practices to create installations at Rodmarton Manor, reflecting the theme for this year's show, 'Flowers and the Maker'.
Ceramic mosaic artist Cleo Mussi joins forces with florist Thistle by Nature to create a table setting in the dining room at Rodmarton Manor. This body of work around traditional and old fashioned flower names invites the women of this historic household; the servants or perhaps the owners to sit together at the dining table and share a floral feast.

Cleo’s trademark hands holding flowers made from historical ceramic tableware will form part of the dining experience. Each flower will reference folklore, fairy lore, romance, symbolism and tradition in the language of flowers.
However, there is nothing traditional about how they approach their work which will inspire and stimulate viewers to consider how we perceive the natural world and the challenges of our changing environment. A seasonal journey with freshly cut, dried flowers and mosaics, together they will create an installation with a botanical and historical story within the stunning rooms at Rodmarton, celebrating the horticultural calendar.
