Our New Guest Maker - Sarah Packington
Our guest maker over the festive period is Sussex Guild jeweller Sarah Packington.
Sarah designs and hand makes colourful contemporary dyed acrylic jewellery. She studied Wood, Metal, Ceramics and Plastics BA (hons) at Brighton Polytechnic, graduating in 1991.
In 1994 Sarah was a founder member the co-operative craft studios Rosehill Workshop, and she has been happily working there ever since. Sarah has exhibited in many contemporary craft fairs around the country and was awarded ‘Best in Show’ at Craft Festival Cheltenham in 2025. Sarah joined the Sussex Guild in July 2025.
Many of Sarah’s designs are influenced by mid-century textile design, art and sculpture from artists such as Lucienne Day and Barbara Hepworth.
Sarah endeavours to push the boundaries of what can be done with her chosen material. She experiments with textured surface patterns and innovative ways of joining components. All designs are highly finished to give a precious feel.
You will find Sarah's work in the shop in November and December and see her website here
