Read The Comet Stone by Nigel Calvert

The talents of our Guild members know no bounds. Glass artist Nigel Calvert has written a novel.

The Comet Stone is available on Kindle, in print and audio on Amazon

Every summer, sisters Tamarind and Daisy spend weeks in their grand holiday
home by the sea. The sun is hot, the sky is clear and tempers are frayed
when Tamarind has good reason not to do what she is told.

They meet brothers Aries and Pluto and get involved in an important historical sailboat race originally to be the first to bring back the earliest and the sweetest summer fruits.

The race prize is an ancient piece of comet stone that fell to earth in a
ball of fire many years ago. The comet stone is reputed to have the ability
to change the fortune of any person that holds it. The comet stone appears
to have a strange design of swans passing each other and, when inverted, a
phoenix. The comet stone gets lost.

Nigel says 'I love stories, telling them and reading them, but I have always had a
profound wish to write one of my own. Here it is, from the nutshell of an
idea strong enough to make it worthwhile through the hours of rewrites and
edits to a book.

I live in the UK and was born and educated here. I read law at university
and worked in my own right as a copyright lawyer. I also
make and exhibit blown glass and now I am a first time author.'
