I am designer of Arts & Crafts inspired patterns, capturing the intricate details of nature. Often I feel that nature has already made the pattern and I am just the observer. I hope to heighten appreciation of the immediate outside world by bringing it into the home.

All my work begins with drawings, usually from photos I take on daily walks in the woods and landscape around my home. I capture details from flowers and gardens, and also period architecture, with shape and repetition being the elements I am most drawn to. Colour comes later for me; often secondary to form, though I do love how colour can alter a pattern and extend possibilities. I carve my designs to lino and handprint my patterns to paper, cards and stationery. I also reproduce my designs as textiles for interiors, and other products, such as wrapping paper.

I have 20 years of experience as a graphic designer, but deliberately moved back towards a hands-on approach to design after becoming a mother. I am motivated to share, teach and inspire others through printmaking, to break down complex and increasing barriers to expression through art. I am a strongly believe everyone can benefit from some sort of creative practice. I teach occasional lino printing workshops for beginners, and enjoy giving simple block printing demonstrations, to encourage everyone to give it a try.
