Discover Craft - Meet Robyn Hardyman

Our makers are always busy preparing for new events, from prestigious craft fairs to open studio days and inspiring exhibitions. You can attend these events, which are often free to enter, meet our makers, and support their small businesses.

We caught up with ceramicist Robyn Hardyman who has a busy Spring ahead after which she hopes to find some precious studio time to develop new work.

'I am exhibiting at Ceramic Art London at Olympia in West Kensington, London from 8-10 May. This is the Craft Potters Association's premier event, they call it 'the leading showcase for excellence and innovation in contemporary ceramic art' and it is an amazing show for anyone interested in ceramics. It is my first time there, so I am excited and nervous in equal measure.
Also, in May I have an exhibition at Cambridge Contemporary Art, from 1-31 May. I am showing my ceramics alongside the botanical paintings of Gael Sellwood.
I will be showing at home in Summertown in the City during Oxfordshire Artweeks from16-25 May, alongside painters Harriet Eagle and Debbie Laidlaw, and jeweller Zanna Rand-Bell.
Finally, I am taking part in Potfest by the Lake at Compton Verney on 19-21 June. Compton Verney is an historic house and well-established, award-winning arts venue set in 120 acres of stunning Lancelot 'Capability' Brown parkland. Potfest by the Lake will highlight the work of ninety of the UK’s finest ceramics makers. Compton Verney is close to junction twelve of the M40 and makes a wonderful day out.
