Guild Members at Craft Festival
We are delighted to share that four members of the Guild have been selected for Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey which opens this Friday. Two of our jewellers, Fionna Hesketh and Su Trindle, furniture maker John Crossley and rug maker Jessie James.
In its 22nd year, Craft Festival will feature more than 200 selected makers, promising another outstanding celebration of contemporary and heritage craft.
There will be workshops, demonstrations, talks about heritage and contemporary craft, the world’s smallest solar-powered cinema, yoga, free children’s activities, live music, theatre, storytelling and good food.
We asked our members what they are looking forward to at the show.
Fionna will be bringing her enamel jewellery ‘I’m looking forward to the Craft Festival to be amongst fellow friends and makers, sharing our experiences in a friendly and welcoming place, and meeting new customers who are as enthusiastic as I am to be there.
This will be my third time of showing at Bovey Tracey Craft Festival, and I’m always impressed with how far people travel to get to it, the makers and the public alike’
Jessie will be demonstrating and says, ‘I will be doing an interactive demonstration with MAKE Southwest at MM15 on Friday 12th June where you can try tufting with a beginner tufting gun.’
John says ‘Bovey is such a special event and I’m looking forward to my first craft event of the year. I have several new designs to exhibit including my latest stick chair, boasting a characterful elm seat. I’m on stand number A22. See you there!’
Su Trindle has exhibited her resin and silver jewellery at Craft Festival many times ‘This show has a real festival atmosphere. I am so looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new makers and visitors, in this beautiful setting on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. If you visit, come and say hello. I'm on stand B31.’
