Willow Basket Making with Guild member Susan Early basket
Weave a beautiful and useful basket using English willow and a variety of traditional weaves and techniques 17th January 2023, from 10am to 4pm

Make a selection of tealights with Guild member Adrian Bates

Your chance to play with porcelain! This straightforward technique allows novices and those with more experience to make a selection of tealights with different shapes and textured surfaces. Once fired light will pass through the translucent porcelain, highlighting the decorative technique used. It's a fun and rewarding workshop which includes all materials and firing.

Feel free to bring textured fabrics, doilies, leaves, bark and anything you want to impress into the clay. I will supply a basic range of extured papers.

After firing by me the pieces produced will be ready for collection from the Guild shop a week or so after the workshop.

Hand Embroidery with Guild member Jan Knibbs

You will learn some basic hand embroidery stiches with a little silk shading, ribbon work and bead work to make a small hand embroidery picture for framing. Bring with you a small embroidery hoop, plain fabric and any embroidery threads or beads you would like to incorporate. I will bring some materials.

Make a hand stitched leather purse with Guild member Valerie MIchael leather workshop
Using vegetable tanned leather and linen thread you will learn how to cut out, hand stitch, attach a fitting and finish edges all in a day! All tools are provided. 11th April 2023, from 10am to 4pm

Basic Machine Embroidery with Guild member Jan Knibbs

You will learn some basic machine embroidery. Bring with you your own sewing machine to do basic machine embroidery. I fthis proved difficult you may use my machine and you willlearn a variety of stitches. You will need an embroidery hoop, some plain fabric and any machine embroidery threads you may have.

An introduction to Tapestry Weaving with Guild member Sarah Beadsmoore

This workshop will introduce the age old art of tapestry weaving. We will work on small wooden frames and create several samples and learn the simple techniques of warping, and creating patterns and shapes within the weaving. You will learn about yarns and their different properties and how to use colour to the greatest effect.
