Our New Guest Maker - Jayne Tricker

Based in Cheltenham, professional artist and designer-maker Jayne Tricker is passionate about ceramics. She has been hand-building clay vessels for 30 years. For her there is an innate wisdom in working with what is essentially earth.

Always making, her aim as a ceramicist is to create humble, elegant, authentic forms that she hand builds for the purpose of holding light. Her hand-built bowls have an antiquated, timeless quality in their simplicity. Built over several weeks, each is fired in her kiln and then barrel-fired, using dried organic materials to create unique surface marks and colours.

Jayne is a qualified sound therapist and gong master and believes sound to be an ancient healing tool, that has huge benefits for us. Our physical, emotional and energetic bodies respond to sound frequency just as they respond to light and colour frequency, and these can be harnessed to improve our well-being.

Each bowl made reflects a key moment in time and fired at key energetic times. They are made to embody the energy vibration and frequency of key dates in the calendar such as solstice and equinox.

Jayne's work will be featured in our Cheltenham shop until the end of November.
