Today we talk to Anna Newton whose studio is in Gloucestershire. Anna's hand-designed, digitally-printed silk and wool scarves are both contemporary and tactile.

Vibrant, pattern-based, abstract

How long have you been a maker?

I have been designing and making various things for most of my life but the current speciality has occupied me for roughly 20 years

Designing

No

What are you reading? 

Kathleen Jamie ‘Sightlines’. An amazing, beautifully written book

What is your favourite film?

Cinema Paradiso

What do you listen to in your studio?

I like working in silence

What one thing would improve your life as a maker?

Having more time!

What’s the best piece of advice you have received?

Not to follow any trends

How do you design your scarves?

Life as a maker can be challenging, would you do it all again?

Absolutely, I love designing and making and making people happy with my products
